I don't care. I don't mind.
I dedicated them all.
Varesh, Kuunavang, the Green Moa, The Bone Dragon, Shiro, The Black Beast...
Well, all I got.

You forget minis were cosmetic and for FUN, not to show off wealth. Instead people sold them, even the ones from contests. I can understand if you have duplicates but it is ridiculous.

Very nice rewards, not too hefty on the grind component.

I'll rate the HoM rewards 29/30

Emily Diehl (of ArenaNet) said (of the rewards in GW2 HoM): "You are given the items for free. Well, let me clarify. You will go to the Hall of Monuments in GW2 and talk to an NPC. That guy will make your item for you for no cost. You can make as many copies of the items that you need, but they're account bound (so they can't be traded or sold)"

This makes me think that when ArenaNet give out rare minis (or other in game items) as contest prizes, (or as limited promotional items although I don't like limiting items by real world geography, residency, language, or wealth), they should make them like that too, so that they can't be traded between accounts or sold. Or at least make them dedicated to the winners nominated character in some way (perhaps in another account). That would stop some of the trading of rare pets and items at ridiculous prices, and leave the owners of those items with the respect due as winners, rather than the often assumed contempt for being unscrupulous traders or duplicators. It may also stop some theft of those high end items. The winners would of course then have to be content with their prize, rather than its in-game monetary value. Perhaps a public in game trophy cabinet could be where the winners names are recorded, and where they can pick up copies of their prize for their account. Or have a special section of the in-game store for prize collection.

What anet fails to realize is its just going to become the pre-post searing market all over again meaning you will be able to buy all the achievements.

At what level can you display your Norn, Asuran, Delver and Ebon Hawk titles? Do they need to be max or can they be displayed from lvl 8 on?

The main problem I have with the rewards is that there are so many titles. These are just titles available from GW1 HoM and there are, what...10 available titles? A character can only have one title on display so I would rather have one or two awesome titles than 10 titles that I will never use.

On another note, has there been any indication of what Mini Pets will be like in GW2? I imagine they'll be cosmetic and hang around by your feet as usual but that's so... very... normal. With all that GW2 is pushing to be different having them be more animated and unique would be a lot of fun. If the mini tabby cat would hiss at monsters if they came near for example, even if it did no damage, it would be more fun to have a mini pet out.

I guess just hoping for the same as with skills in GW2: Quality over Quantity

Let it go........we get it you and one other person have all the minis...we dont care sry......power trading/duping/botting are/were the only methods of obtaining all of them...that's not what the game is/was about...sry bout your bad luck.

I'd just want to make it clear that a Promotional items has already been included in the rewards, the Chimeric Prism, reward for 20/50.

It seems GWAMM is game-wide. Why can you display many titles in GW1 on a character you didn't earn them on? I don't see you running around GWG whining about that.
Solution for you?

A better title
You seem to keep mistaking "better" with "my version". It's common amongst pve community.

Actually, it's you who has to argue all you want since you have to convince ANet to change it. Gl hf.

but watering down GWAMM
Gwamm and its entire title track is one of the stupidest things to ever happen to GW1, how can it be even more watered down is beyond me.

GW was hardly work for me
That's funny since you said "More work done in GW1 should carryover equally in GW2."
Gwamm ladies and gentlemen- a person who buys a game, plays it and expects a reward for playing it.

If the HoM rewards were given the way you want it to be given, you would have to do pvp. boohoo!

Other 50/50 here...
I'm so happy with this good news about HoM and GW2, but... don't understan why some titles that they are so hard to get have the same valour as others... I think LDoA need a lot of time & patience, yes is afk, but no everybody can stay 24h with the computer/game running, and without DC's, doing aggros etc...
R12 zaishen or R15 of Ha are more importan than R3 zaishen or R6 HA, and very hard to get, I understan that with low levels you can put the monument on the hall, but no that they get the same reward as other with the max title..

Btw, good job anet ^^

Haha, you're right, I didn't express myself very clearly. What I meant was that and item that players could acquire from promotions or contests in Guild Wars 1 should not contribute anything special to the Hall of Monuments reward meter. E.g. Divine Aura, rare miniatures, rare tonics, promotional weapons. These items were rewards in themselves and giving extra points for these would be circular.

Now of course I have absolutely no problem with some of these items making an appearance in GW2, in fact I was glad to see the Chimeric Prism and the Ithas Longbow among the rewards.

See, this is a big reason why all the limited minipets should mean nothing, and I'm glad they do mean nothing (other than bragging rights or something to look at for completionists).
Even though Anet said back in the day that they dealt with the duped armbraces, there were tens of thousands still floating around ingame.

From that moment on nothing was like before. And I don't care if some people actually got all minis legit. The fact that there are still thousands upon thousands of armbraces in the game that were created through duping has changed the high-end mini market forever. Some minis were on accounts that got banned, some got duped to a higher number, and while some dupers got banned, others got away unscathed.
I do not need to remind you that some of those high end traders are in a guild that also has QA-Testers and people close to Anet in their guild. I don't want to accuze anyone, but the "benefits" are clearly visible, and if it is only upfront information on planned changes to the game, which you then use to plan ahead for the future market situation.

So after my little rambling; I'm sure glad that Anet decided to go this way, not too much but also not just "display 20 Miniatures".

I have a HoM question that the wiki didn't address. My warrior already has dedicated his Torm Shield. Can he also dedicate an Oppressor Shield, or does a different character who has not dedicated any shield have to do it?

Yes you can and you can also dedicate a destroyer shield. Iam not sure though if a str destroyer shield and a tactics desroyer shield count as a different weapon.

No, they do not count as a different weapons as far as the calculator goes.
